Taste a club with a different flavour

So you've heard of book club and maybe walking club but one innovative Brisbane retailer is set to get foodie mouths watering serving up a different kind of social club – the Taste Wine and Cooking Club.

The brain child of Jodie Macaulay, owner of popular Fortitude Valley cookware and homeware retailer Taste , the wine and cooking club is designed for those with a love for cooking who also want to learn and share cooking tips.

"I wanted to create a relaxed and fun concept that brings like-minded people together and celebrates our passion for creative cooking," Ms Macaulay said.

"It's not a cooking class and it's not targeted at either amateurs or professionals, it's just for those who want to share their favourite recipes, pick up some hot tips and have plenty of laughs along the way."
The unique concept will be based on a different cooking theme each month and will see participants in groups of 10 to 20 bring pre-made home-cooked meals featuring a unique ingredient which they will share their recipe for with the rest of their group members.

"This is such a unique idea and a great way to offer more to my customers. I can't wait to meet some fantastic people and see what ideas, recipes and stories we can swap."

A guest expert in the style of cooking will attend each month and will not only share an insight into their art and tips, but also give feedback on each attendee's dish. Prizes will be awarded in a range of categories such as best dish and people's choice.

Following the short presentation and judging, Taste Wine and Cooking Club members will then enjoy a banquet-style dinner matched with a range of handcrafted wines made by boutique producers from across the country.

The entertaining and educational wine element of the evening will be hosted by leading Brisbane wine identity Darren Davis whose company,

Purple Palate, is the proud wine partner for the Taste Wine and Cooking Club.

"This is a unique opportunity to sample fantastic food and wine, and meet likeminded people in a relaxed
and casual setting," Mr Davis said.
